Often referred to as a “Blind Date” book, your book comes dressed as a wrapped paper package – you choose your date based totally on genre or just a few words. Either way, the title and author will be a total surprise!
We offer a variety of new and pre-loved book options, all beautifully gift-wrapped.
Options for older children and teens are also available.

Our themed Book Boxes and Gift Hampers take reading to a new level, offering a truly indulgent reading experience. Available in a wide variety of prices and themes, there is a box or hamper to suit every recipient!
We also offer custom boxes tailored to your bespoke requirements.
Frequently Asked Questions
When will I receive my Mystery Book or Book Box from Mystery Box Books?
We’re at the mercy of Australia Post, so expected shipping times are between 2-6 days for most major Australian capital cities. A tracking number will be emailed to you, so you can stay advised of your delivery every step of the way. Shipping is from Brisbane, so if you need your item sooner and you’re local, you’re welcome to arrange for a pick-up. Just contact me for details.
I don’t see anything I like. Can I make a special request?
Of course! Simply get in touch with a description of what you’re looking for, and together we'll find the book or item that fits your request.
Can I get a refund or exchange my book if I’ve already read it or don’t like it?
The surprise element you get from Mystery Box Books is all part of the experience and, as such, we cannot accept returns or exchanges. We're sorry if you’re disappointed, and hope that you can pass the book along to someone who will love it.
You can send us as much information about your reading history as you like, so the likelihood of receiving a book you already own is greatly reduced!
Are you a book publisher?
No, Mystery Box Books is a personalised book service that sells commercially published books without alteration. All rights are as per the original copyright notice in the books.
